| AV-77 Audio/Video Processor Sansui is offering a unique component for those who want to make their own video productions and integrate their video and audio equipment. The AV-77 audio and video selector/processor offers 3 "ART" functions, PICTURE control, an audio/video fader, and audio dubbing capability, to let you create your own world of video art and fantasy on videocassette tape. Inputs for 4 video
program sources Video recording and dubbing With the AV-77 it's possible to record video inputs from a VDP, TV tuner or camera onto two connected VCRs. or dub between the two VCRs. During dubbing, you can process the image while monitoring it on a connected video monitor or an ordinary TV. Audio dubbing on video tape During video dubbing, new audio may be dubbed onto the video tape; the input source may be the "audio" input (amp, tuner, CD player, etc.), a tape deck or a microphone. A mixing control permits the user to achieve an optimum balance in the mix between the microphone and a selected audio input (tape, record, etc.). It's even possible to retain the old soundtrack and superimpose new sound over it. Special effects creation The AV-77 has unique VIDEO ART and PICTURE controls that allow you to add creative, artistic touches to a video production during recording. Vertical and horizontal wipe controls are helpful in determining where on the screen this special effect is applied for creative purposes, or for comparing the specially treated with the nontreated portions. Audio/video fader The fader adds smooth transitions from one scene to the next. It fades both audio and video in and out at the same time. Picture detail and sharpness controls During recording or dubbing, the quality of the picture may be improved, with more details and sharpness added. dbx* noise reduction The AV-77 has a built-in dbx noise reduction system that reduces noise and expands the dynamic range of tapes, both audio and video, to an astonishing 100dB. Noise filter The filter effectively removes noise so that tapes, especially video tapes, sound less hissy. Simulated stereo Most video tapes and discs still offer only mono sound. But the "Multidimension" feature turns any mono video sound into simulated stereo. When used with a stereo program, it makes the sound even fuller and wider spread.
